| Record of Merit (ROM) Rules | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Record of Merit program is a means to recognize excellence in members who are showing their dogs in any ASCA program. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To be eligible for ROM awards, the owner(s) of the dog must be a member of WASCUNY (juniors participating in this program must themselves be members of WASCUNY). Only points earned in ASCA events will count toward the ROM award. In the case of tying scores for each category, each dog will receive a ROM award. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Conformation The top dog in each category will get a ROM award. 1 point is earned for each dog defeated in the highest level of competition achieved that day by that dog (total # of dogs defeated minus 1, since the winning dog can't defeat him/herself). For example, if a dog wins the class and there were a total of 6 dogs in the class, the dog would earn 5 points. Dogs winning Best of Winner's counts the number of dogs and bitches defeated. If the dog won Best of Breed, 1 point would be earned for all dogs defeated (# of dogs/bitches entered in the regular classes plus any specials entered minus 1). |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3 additional points will be earned for Winners Dog/Bitch 4 additional points will be earned for Best of Winners 5 additional points will be earned for Best of Breed/Best Opposite Sex |
